in the Considine Building, 215 W. Bowery Street, Akron, OH

Adult Program, Teen Program, School Age Children Program
12:00 noon – 5 p.m.
Parent and Child Program for Preschoolers and Young Children
12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m.
Gluten Free Vendor Fair 11 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Space is limited. You must preregister to be assured a spot. As of March 19 we still have room available.

There will be no meal served, just general grazing of the vendors samples. This was done for time and to keep your cost for the day at a minimum.
Free parking available in the Children's Hospital Bowery Street parking deck and on street. Other lots in the area will be busy, and cost, due to the Aero's baseball game that afternoon.

This program will be a shorter event, lasting just 3 hours. Children in this group must be accompanied by an adult. They will have a Bake and Take session with FoodTek, Meet the animals that eat gluten free and go on a scavenger hunt of the vendor fair. Additional activities still being arranged.

Celiac Disease Conference, April 26, 2009

The Second Celiac Disease Conference in Northeast Ohio will be held on Sunday April 26, 2009. Watch for details soon. It will be held at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron in the Considine Building. We are lining up great speakers and activities as well as a gluten free vendors fair. This will be a family oriented event with programs fo adults, teens, school age children and also a special parent and child program for preschool age children.

What's in your Fridge with Dietitian Sally Philips

We have scheduled our first Celiac Presentation for 2009 at the Digestive Health Center with Dietitian Sally Phillips doing the presentation. The presentation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 5:30 in Ste 150 at the Digestive Health Center. Cost will be $10.00 per person. Sally will be presenting: Living the Gluten-Free LIfestyle with a focus on " What's in your fridge?" and how to use it. She and I have discussed expanding on resource sheets and Sally is developing new handouts.
